Explore clay through touch, movement and intuition with artist Lauren McNicoll
Explore clay through touch, movement, and intuition in an immersive 8-week handbuilding course at SET Ceramics. Led by artist and educator Lauren McNicoll, this intimate course (maximum 6 participants) takes an embodied, process-led approach, using your hands and body as primary creative tools.
You will build a strong technical foundation in core methods - including pinching, slab construction, and expressive coil building - before expanding into experimental, physical making. The course also introduces unique surface decoration techniques like sgraffito, slip inlay, and illustrative painting.
Culminating in a self-directed final project, sessions perfectly balance structured technical guidance with playful exploration. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced maker wanting to push your boundaries, you will leave with a unique collection of handmade ceramic pieces and a deeper confidence in your own intuitive creative process.
Time: Sunday 28 June to 16 August 10am–12.30pm weekly.
Tickets: You can reserve your spot in advance online.
