Learn something new! Gresham College has been providing free, public lectures since 1597 when Sir Thomas Gresham founded the college to bring the ‘new learning’ to Londoners. Today the College continues Sir Thomas's vision, bringing some of the world's most brilliant minds to speak in fields ranging across the arts and sciences. Past professors include luminaries of the scientific revolution such as Robert Hooke and Sir Christopher Wren, and recent programmes include leading academics like Professors Ronald Hutton, Joanna Bourke, Chris Whitty and Sarah Hart. The lectures aim to stimulate intellectual curiosity and to champion academic rigour, professional expertise and freedom of expression.
