The London Centre, 3 Aldermanbury, London EC2V 7HH

Located in the West Wing of Guildhall, this free-to-access gallery showcases two scale models of London that serve as a powerful tool for understanding the city’s transformation:

The New London Model: At 12.5 meters long and 1:2000 scale, this model represents over 85 square kilometres of London, including 170,000 buildings and 34 kilometres of the Thames. It provides a comprehensive view of the city, from King’s Cross to Peckham and beyond. The City Model: A 1:500 scale model focused on the City of London, presenting the future of its skyline and new developments.

The London Centre is home of NLA, London’s built environment community. The scale models of London are used by NLA’s community, the public and young people to learn about the past, present and future of London’s ever-changing built environment. Exhibitions at The London Centre focus on the people, places and projects that contribute to London and influence cities worldwide.

Using these models of London, NLA hosts an introductory model talk every Friday lunchtime giving an overview to the history of London’s development, NLA, and the unique models.
