From ancient myths and legends to historic events and ruined landscapes, the past has long captivated artistic imagination. With the rise of modern archaeological practice in the 19th century, artists began to incorporate increasing levels of detail and realism into their work. This fascinating tour reveals how art and archaeology intersect, bringing history vividly to life.
As part of this extended experience, you’ll also have the rare opportunity to view Alan Sorrell’s ambitious reconstruction of Roman London, 'Londinium Romanum', a remarkable work that is not usually on public display.
