A revolving programme of family activities may have you heading into the Roman Amphitheatre and hearing tales of Roman conquests, or creating crafts from the Victorian paintings surrounding you.
For August's Second Saturday, Guildhall Art Gallery invites families to create their own Victorian-inspired postcards, decorate them with drawings and messages, and send them via the gallery's postbox.
11am–4pm: Creative Activities
Did you know that postcards and day trips became hugely popular during the Victorian era? Come to the Gallery to design and paint your own postcard, then pop it in their postbox and share a little Victorian-inspired magic with someone special.
11am & 2pm: Story Time
Enjoy storytelling sessions inspired by London, creativity, art, artists and the City.
Admission
The activities are free; however, booking is encouraged as it helps the Gallery ensure they have enough resources for everybody. Walk-ins are welcome on the day.
The Guildhall Art Gallery is free to enter and offers plenty to explore, so plan to make a day of it. You can bring your lunch to enjoy outside in Guildhall Yard or in the gallery's large cloakroom area.
This event is for children aged 3 to 13 and their families. It is not suitable for individual adults.
