Tower Bridge celebrate 50 years since ‘the switch’

Save on entry and enjoy free family activities this summer

Families can enjoy a summer of hands-on science fun at Tower Bridge as the iconic London landmark celebrates 50 years since switching from steam power to electricity with free activities included in admission and reduced ticket prices throughout the school holidays.

Visitors can join in the celebrations and enjoy a series of drop-in activities designed to bring the science behind Tower Bridge to life.

From making postcards that light up to building simple motors and experimenting with static electricity, the activities are included with admission and designed for children aged 6-10.

Adding to the excitement, ticket prices have also been reduced for the summer as part of the government’s Great British Summer Savings initiative to help families enjoy more affordable days out over the holidays.

From 25 June until 1 September, tickets cost £15.80 per adult (usually £18), £7.90 per child (usually £9) and family tickets are available from £28.40.

Time: Tower Bridge is open daily between 9.30am–6pm.
